MG TD TF 1500 - TF Jubilee clips
I recall someone finding a source for the proper hose clamps for the TF "valve cover to air cleaner breather pipe" in the past. Could not find on the archive. Does anyone have that info? I would like four so I can reinstall my cover and breather pipe. Tom '54 TF |

Hi Tom, They sell them here. http://xks.com/ The originals were stamped "size O" 16mm to 25mm or 5/8" to 7/8" Frank |

Tom, Jubilee doesn't use the original style cheese head screws any more. If you want those, you'll have to find some old originals and re do them. They won't even make them on special order, so were still fortunate to be able to get a real Jubilee clip that closely matches the original. I bought mine directly from the factory, but from them you have to buy a minimum of 10. PJ![]() |

My originals for comparison. Matthew. ![]() |

Matthew, Well fairly matches the originals. Also is the pipe between the filter and valve cover supposed to be painted engine color? Knowing your car is original, that would be my assumption. If that's correct, I need to repaint mine. PJ |

Paul, Check out the gallery for TF9052 on Chris' site. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF9052/TF9052_075.jpg The good news is you still have the breather tube and a quick respray so you can get it engine color. This tube is often missing on some restorations. Another nitty detail is the angle bracket for the throttle return spring is also painted engine color. http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtf/Pictures/TF9052/TF9052_088.jpg Frank |

Finding a set of four original Jubilee Size O clips with the slotted, cheese head type screws is like trying finding rocking horse manure. However, they are out there and you have to "dig" and be alert to find them. I have searched for at least two years to find just ONE since I had three original still on my car. The clip near the valve cover is usually the one that is broken and replaced. Finding old original parts is exciting for me... It is the "chase". I was ecstatic when I found it... The newer style are hex head and bright stainless. However they are stamped Jubilee Size O on the clamp just like they were 60 years ago. I would glass bead the stainless and have it soft zinc plated(close substitute for Cadmium plating) to keep it as close to original. Frank |
