MG TD TF 1500 - TF Lift-A-Dot Peg Positions

Were there standard locations for Lift-A-Dot pegs on the TF for the rag top and tonneau? My body man welded up all the holes in the tub and across the cowl and doors. I could use a drawing or sketch of their relative locations, and photos would be greatly appreciated. I better do this before the dash is installed.

thanks,

IIRC - These were all after market installed by owners, upholsterers, etc. So, I don't think there's a 'proper' place for them. ....could be wrong...

Tyler, the factory soft top did not use any lift-the-dot fasteners (LTDs), only some snaps. Cars were delivered with a half-tonneau that did use LTDs. You'll find that the LTDs around the back of the tub are standardized. If you have a tonneau cover you you can use it to locate the position of the front LTDs. There is a snap fastener on the door for the side curtain. Bud

Downloaded for another member, here's my mirror hole, also showing where the lift-a-dot pins were installed. I'll put them back just to fill the holes. As of yet, I don't have a cover. PJ

TF's left the factory with only four LTD's for the half tonneau installed. There are two above the fuel tank end panels and two at the 'hips' by the roof frame mount. When dealers and early owners installed a full tonneau they put the LTD's where they thought best.

There is another thread on this a few months ago that shows exactly where the 4 ltd's go. I mistakenly thought there were 5 on the back but further review shows the half tonneau did not have one in the center because the cover was clipped from each tank strap. My car was sold brand new with a full tonneau cover and the dealer thought it was necessary to add the 5th one so I thought all the cars came that way :-)
