George, look on the MGA forum under 'olive oil tin comes in handy', about the 12th March.
It shows the top of the tin used as an oil catcher, and, it's an Ozzie Extra Virgin Olive Oil tin too!!

George,
The one that I have came from the UK. The chap who used to sell them has, as far as I know, since passed away. There was an article in Totally T-Type some while back on this and if you contact John James he will be able to tell you who has taken over the production.
I modified the drip tray to add a level gauge and a drain tap and also fitted a coarse windscreen sponge as a baffle. There's not much road clearance from the drain tap and I have scraped it a few times on nasty humps.

The drain tap would be better fitted on the end or side.

Is the design for the TF and TD the same?
I have one of the oil catch for a TD that was offered on this site a few years back. I haven't gotten around to installing yet.

If they are the same I can get some pictures and dimensions a little later today.
Guys

Dave,
You could be right there but it came with a welded on
stud already tapped on the bottom and fitted with a plug which I replaced with the tap for convenience. The tray is actually beautifully made and the chap was called David Pelham as far as I can recall.

I realized I went down the rabbit hole of "links".
I posted dimensions of the oil catch for my TD.
