MG TD TF 1500 - Thread Images

Today, unless I am "logged in" when I click on an image link in a thread (in either TD-TF or Y subject threads), the image does not appear.

Last night, the image appeared whether I was logged in or not.

This is the first time I have had this happen. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

cheers

I don't have this problem but using Chrome I had to jack my Zoom up to 125% to match what I saw yesterday. Not sure if this is a new Chrome or the forum changed.
Christopher Couper

No images for me also unless I'm "logged in".

I tuned in this morning only to discover that I wasn't logged in which is strange as I've been automatically logged in for the past 4 years or so. Odd. Cheers

I had the same problem.

Same problem here as well. Needed to get a reminder password sent since it's been so long.

We changed the address of the BBS to use a secure server for your privacy. That's the change that has cause the old links to stop working.

Had to rejoin using an old name and password. Bud

Now I've had to re-customize my viewing. Haven't been in Massachusetts for 2+ years, haven't had the earthlink email for about 10 years. Bud

I, using that Windows "e" browser and finding a five year old scrap of paper with my username and password, logged in and created a new "favorite." I deleted the old favorite. The new favorite takes me to the opening page and I'm already logged in just like old times.

I had to do the same thing, new favorite solved the issue.

On a Windows machine, simply right-click the link and select Properties. Add an 's' after 'http' and click "OK". Your shortcut is now updated and will work as before the site update.

Mike and Chris, thank you for the update on mg-cars.org.uk website security.

I had to update my MG Club's website security, so know the problems involved.

An interesting feature now is if you are viewing a thread and not logged in, the images appear simultaneously with the text, whereas if you are logged in you have to click on the image link to view the image.

I am using Chrome.

Again thank you for the update and sorting out the problem. And to Mike a BIG THANK YOU for hosting this BBS and the accompanying TD and Y websites.

cheers

Stuart,

When we originally introduced images in posts people didn't have as much bandwidth so the default was OFF. ie click to view inline.

I changed that for non-logged in users this week.

If you don't see them as a logged-in user you can change that by clicking on the "Customise" text link on the BBS when you are logged in and then select "Yes" for "View images within posts in-line"

There are a lot of options within "Customise" aimed at giving everyone what they prefer.

Regards,
Mike

I just discovered this:

"Order of messages within threads. Most recent at the top".

My day is now complete. :-)
Christopher Couper

Chris, that is a great time saver isn’t it. I wish I could find a similar facility on the other forum.
