MG TD TF 1500 - Threads on Dynamo tach coupling

Odd question, but is there anyone who knows what the threads are on the coupling for the tach drive? I bought a new tach drive coupling as my original one wouldn't screw on but about 25% and got so tight it made it very hard to get it to go on further, So I ordered a new one from Moss thinking my old one was bad, not the case! the threads on the case are either wrong or there's a slight taper overall. I need a die to chase the threads to make them usable, any clues what these threads are? I could possibly use a pair of vice grips to get it to go on further, but that's not going to happen. The new coupling screws on the old dynamo with no effort, very poor manufacturing quality! PJ

I didn't make myself clear about the oversize threads, there on the NEW DYNAMATOR! Poorly cut threads and oversize diameter at rear plate tach drive coupling. The coupling screws on the old dynamo perfectly. Shows me very poor quality control in the manufacturing process. A 3/4 inch X 26 TPI die will straighten it out, the unit comes back out and the process stops until I can get a die, which to my knowledge only comes from the UK. PJ

I posted on the wrong inquiry, but I was trying to point out that, since I cut the threads on a lathe, I can make you a nut with oversized threads.
I don’t think I was very clear on this.

Jim, Thanks for your response, but the brass nut has been taken care of. For the tach drive connection threads being cut improperly, I ordered a tap and die set 3/4X26 TPI BSB from the UK to correct the poorly manufactured threads on the unit. PJ

Haven't received the die I ordered from Tracy Tools in the UK yet, I usually get stuff from the UK in about 4 to 5 days, been twice that long now, still waiting. PJ

I have a heating radiator (for a bathroom) coming from the UK.

It has been sitting at FEDEX in Indianapolis since 3AM Friday, now about 36 hours later.

When I got 5 wire wheels they took about 2 days total.

I got a Dynamator with threads so bad, the nut wouldn't engage at all.

No information from Tracy Tools on the die I ordered. Haven't received it yet and have no information when and if I will. Blaming it on the pandemic only lasts so long. Getting tired of ordering and paying for stuff and have to fight to get it sent out. One excuse after another. I thought Tracy Tools was a reputable business? PJ

Well, I received a package from Tracy Tools this morning, only problem is they sent me a tap, not a die! I specified A die, I have no use for a tap. I'll see if I can order just a Die! Grr.
PJ Jennings

PJ, I've been trying to get a 1/2-16 tap for over a week (bumper bolts). Bud

Hey Bud, you don't need a 3/4 X 26 TPI BSB tap, do you! lol
PJ Jennings

Spoke with a person from Tracy Tools and a Die will be in the mail today. I misunderstood their order form and screwed it up, the reason I got a tap and not the die. Very nice, understanding, and helpful folks to deal with. PJ

Tap(s) and Die arrived today, from UK. Order placed 4/20. Tap from West Coast vendor still hasn't arrived. Two taps and die at $31.92 USD. Highly recommend www.abtoolsonline.com. Bud
