MG TD TF 1500 - Throttle linkage with Marshall Supercharger

Ever since I bought my supercharged TD it has had a mickey-mouse throttle linkage. (See photo attached.)

Can anyone provide any photos or info on the original carburetor throttle linkage used with the Marshall-Nordec supercharger?

Thanks in advance.

Mark, what is the specific problem you are having with the linkage? I can take pictures of my set-up for you if I know what to look for. Mine is a RHD TD but the accelerator rod comes out in about the same position as LHDs, relative to the engine.
Haven't seen any postings from you in a long time. WB

Nice talking with you again at the Glen, Mark. Here's a shot of my linkage. Marvin

Thank you, gentlemen, for your replies.

Marvin:
Thanks for that photo. Very interesting!
Did you make that coupling to extend the carb shaft?

Jim:
Two problems:
1) Just a right-angled piece of stock aluminum is supporting the carb shaft extension. The hole for the shaft has worn. I really should have a type of bushing here.

2) Due to the excessive movement of that shaft extension, the spring coupling holding the two shafts together has cracked. I have safety-wired it so it works but needs to be replaced.

Mark,

Mine is like yours and I don't even have the shaft support bracket. Seems to work fine for me. You should be able to turn the top of the throttle shaft around (put nuts to the inside) and move it closer to the carb body.

Also, why not buy a new throttle shaft (Moss P/N 372-010) and swap the ends to your longer throttle shaft? That way you won't have to have it safety wired together.

Hello, Mark. If memory serves me correctly, I think I made the coupling from the center part of a small turnbuckle, cut to length and drilled out to fit the throttle shafts and pinned with small roll pins. Marvin

I installed identical linkage that came with our Magnacharger from Moss.

Brass hex rod drilled & tapped both ends, connects original pedal/rod to the carb linkage.

Note there's no cable to the enrichener as carb rotated 90 degrees from original creates too much resistance with todays cheapo single wire cables... gave up on them long ago. I was afraid my wife was going to rip the dash apart struggling with it. Never need enrichening to start, anyway. I can always "tickle the carb" to prime it if necessary.

Mark, I finally got around to taking some photos of the carb linkage on my M-N. There are a total of four shots which I have to post one at a time.
Hope they help. I believe Joe Curto must have provided a longer shaft when I bought the carb from him for the blower. Been too long ago to remember. :>(
