MG TD TF 1500 - Tire Update
| Has anyone had recent experience purchasing tires for their TD? I’m looking for some to mount on my TD whose wheels I just had powder coated. I’m thinking size 165/70 SR15. it seems the prices for Vredesteins are not as competitive as a tear earlier. Michelin X are pretty reasonable. And Firestone F560s come in at $120 per tire. What size are people using? 155R15 or 165/70R15 or something else? And what brand or model? If anyone has recent experience, I’d be glad to hear it. Thanks in advance.

| I've run all three. Vredstein Sprint Classic and Michelin XZX are both good tires. The Firestone F560 didn't impress me. |

| I put Vredisteins on my TF 155R15. Think it was a mistake and should have put on the 165R15. |

| FWIW....the rims can handle a tire size up to 175 wide. I have Michelin ZX 175R15 tires on the car at present. However, it does not appear Michelin makes the ZX series any longer. I think there are a few other tire manufactures who do make a 175/15 tire. I chose that size tire to fill-up the fender wells a bit more since the tires are pretty skinny to begin with. No clearance issues using the slightly wider tires. Jim |

| I have a couple year old Michelin 165-15 XZX on my TD. Made by Michelin in Serbia. Only weird thing-they had about a thousand " tire nibs" on them. No problem for the 4 on the ground. But I'm doing a show in a month and spent about half and hour with a belt sander to get them off of the spare so it didn't look hairy! I had them trued and balanced on the car, amazingly smooth. | Thanks, this is all great info. I’ll let you know what I end up with. |
