Looks like you had a good tech session day. Nice work, and I'm sure that Ed is very pleased to have the anti-sway bar installed in his TD. As always, wish I could have been there to join in. John |

I'd kill for a garage like that! Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

And I'm happy to report the anti-sway bar is a major improvement in cornering! I'm ready for an autocross! Thanks once again to LaVerne Downey and the rest of the crew that turned out to help today!!! Ed PS: I believe there will be a video of the event coming up pretty soon. Stay tuned! |

Is that a video of installing the bar? That's my winter project for Lazarus. Bud |

Laverne, Could you inform me as to where to position the sway bar bushings to the dumb irons. I'm doing the same conversion on my TD. Chassis is bare with only the new front suspension in place. New pans, links, used Mgb bar new poly bar bushing kit. Also do the bushings at the dumb irons require a reinforcing plate to relieve the stress on the dumb irons or is simply drilling the attachment points sufficient. I'm using the std 5/8" bar Cheers Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |

I may do a write up on the process, although Bud has a number of them on his site already. One of the helpers brought his camera and has several hours of video I would have to edit to make something useable. University Motors we ain't. Bill I don't have any hard measurements for locating the bar. I just get both pans together on on the car and then attach the bar. I then get both links verticle and clamp the locators to the dumb irons. I check clearance on the tie rods at full lock on the steering and full unload and compression on the springs and the drill for the mounts. There will be very close clearance at full lock and unsprung weight. I've had the same setup on my TF for well over 20000 miles and haven't seen the need for any reinforcement on the irons, but if I were racing I'd probably consider a brace from side to side at that point maybe made from some 3/8" plate. I'd wait to put the bar on until you get it all back together so you can check clearance compressed. |

Laverne, I've revived a thread on heater installation with a specific question about your setup - please read :) thanks! |

Thanks Laverne for the info. I will do a little sleuthing on Bud's site and see if he might have more details Cheers Bill Chasser Jr TD4834 |
