MG TD TF 1500 - Unknown PLC6
Does anybody recognize this ignition switch? It is obviously from the 40's & has a MRN 38 key & lock with a brown bakelite bezel. The switch body is a black PLC 6 & is in excellent condition. The operation is positive & crisp. I was planning to convert this to a TC early TD switch, using the MRN lock & key, if I could find another bezel & knob. However it may well be a rare & difficult to find item & if so I would be loathe to convert it. Love to know what car it was from & some idea of its value. Cheers Peter TD 5801 ![]() |

Got a part number anywhere on it, Peter? |

No part number that I can see however the body is a LUCAS PLC6. Has a real clunky 40's look about it. The whole thing is in great condition. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |

You might have a heck of a time converting that one Peter. If you notice the switch positions are reversed from the TC/TD PLC6s. Clockwise off??? |

Duly noted Lou. There is an identical switch for sale on Ebay at the moment listed as belonging to a Jensen 541. Mine is a little earlier as it has a MRN 38 lock & key. Interested to see what it goes for as I'll now be putting my recently acquired switch up for sale. Cheers Peter TD 5801 |
