MG TD TF 1500 - Value of lost parts (LUCAS)
I'd given a LUCAS C39 with gear connection and a LUCAS regulator with 9 connectors to a workshop. The parts got lost. The regulator has been fine and accompanied the c39 only for adjustment. The C39 had a burned dynamo armature. What do you think will be a fair compensation?

Moss or abington spare prices as a benchmark? The originality is hard to put a value on, but the compensation would then at least provide functionimg parts

I think the price should depend on originality. I didn't found a similar C39 - the regulator 200USD?
Bela
I guess if originality is to be considered the price certainly should be high as the time it will take to try to locate a correctly date coded Dynamo will certainly be more difficult Seems there have been a larger number of our pieces that come up missing at shops. Didn't someone come up short when a shop claimed to loose their tach and or speedo recently ?

Hi The C39 with tacho drive is common to a MK1 Sprite. If you experience difficulty sourcing a replacement I can probably connect you with someone who has a reconditioned one for sale. Contact me via www.masckent.org if need arises. Alan

Thanks for all comments! I had to threaten the shop owner, because he did not responded. Afterwards all the pieces were sent back without comment.

Sounds like a good place to avoid. Cheers Peter TD 5801
