MG TD TF 1500 - what does it look like
I am referring to the cover that goes over the Gearbox oil dipstick hole Thanks George |

Oval, slightly bigger than the hole, bent towards one end to match the gearbox cover, hole for the bolt. Carpet piece glued on. Quite simple, no frills. Matthew. ![]() |

George, There was a cover and wing nut on Ebay in the last week or so. I can't remember if it was listed in the US or Australia. I don't know if it sold so keep an eye out to see if it is re-listed. I made both of these items for my car. I salvaged a piece of brass from an old TF door hinge and filed up a wing nut from it. I cut a cover from 1/16" sheet and put the fold in as required. If you want images and a sketch let me know and I will post them in the next day or so. |

Max, I love the idea that you converted one old TF part into another. Well done. Matthew. |

Thanks Max would like to see exactly what it looked like, I will make one, found the brass wing nut when I cleaned out the pedal box, did not have a clue what it was, Tom knew straight away and let me know |

George, The cover is 2.5" x 5.375" long before bending. Each end is rounded and the fold line follows the transmission cover. The hole for the stud is slotted.
