MG TD TF 1500 - what does it look like

I am referring to the cover that goes over the Gearbox oil dipstick hole

Thanks

Oval, slightly bigger than the hole, bent towards one end to match the gearbox cover, hole for the bolt. Carpet piece glued on. Quite simple, no frills.

George,
There was a cover and wing nut on Ebay in the last week or so. I can't remember if it was listed in the US or Australia. I don't know if it sold so keep an eye out to see if it is re-listed.

I made both of these items for my car. I salvaged a piece of brass from an old TF door hinge and filed up a wing nut from it. I cut a cover from 1/16" sheet and put the fold in as required. If you want images and a sketch let me know and I will post them in the next day or so.

Max, I love the idea that you converted one old TF part into another. Well done.

Thanks Max would like to see exactly what it looked like, I will make one, found the brass wing nut when I cleaned out the pedal box, did not have a clue what it was, Tom knew straight away and let me know

George, The cover is 2.5" x 5.375" long before bending. Each end is rounded and the fold line follows the transmission cover. The hole for the stud is slotted.

Thank you
