MG TD TF 1500 - Where am I?

Where do they have MG's like this one?

Ed,
Looks to me it is an MGRV8. Some of these cars have been imported into Australia from Japan over maybe the last 10 years. To meet Australian standards they require to be worked upon. Stuart Radcliffe from MG Sales and Service in Granville, Sydney is the only person I am aware of that has the licence to do this.

MGF/TF

LHD MGF (or possibly TF). I'd guess continental Europe someplace judging by the EU plate on the Renault and LHD. The seagull shaped parking blocks suggests the coast. I'm going with The Netherlands because France and Germany don't strike me as having the whimsy for those seagull statues and the Belgian coast is rather small, reducing my odds. Could also be Denmark, but I'm betting a British car enthusiast would have at least stopped in Blighty in one direction or the other.

How'd I do?
David Littlefield

It's a trick question. You are in Crested Butte..the picture is from your recent trip to Scandinavia. I've been waiting for them. Looks to be an F or TF in the photo. Group drive to Crested Butte this Saturday. You gonna be around?
MG LaVerne

David is pretty close but I'll give you guys a few more guesses. Here's a hint though:

"Dancin' Queen, Dancin' Queen, bla, bla, bla"

LaVerne, yes, I'm hoping to see whoever shows up Saturday.

Sweden?

You are probably in a scrap yard in the UK. For some reason modern TFs and Fs are just not wanted in the UK and their price is really low. I have seen good ones for sale at under £1000. The last time I was at my local scrap yard they had four. There weren't even parting them out, just dropping them in the crusher! May be it's the time to stash a few away ready for sale in 20 years when few are left. An echo of T series in the 50s.

The Renault is Italian registered, the sun is very high, the Mama Mia bit suggests Greece, Skopelos or the Pelion.

Both ABBA hits so I guess the prize goes to Kevin. Cheers

You got it! ABBA country - Sweden! At a rest stop on the way to a small resort/fishing town near Gottenberg. Never did find the driver. Car looked nice to me! Nicer than a Miata.
Ed
PS: No, we didn't go to the ABBA Museum but we did see it. Sweden is a beautiful place!
efh Haskell

There's an ABBA museum? Oh the humanity ...
Christopher Couper

Oh yea! You either hate them or you love them:

Right outside of Stockholm.

Well, heck, Laverne's reference to Scandinavia and the Abba clue made it easy...

I actually watched Abba's first appearance on the Eurovision song contest back when it was first aired. Hated 'em ever since, but I've known people who thought they were just fantastic. The wife wanted to go see Mama Mia, but, though I normally enjoy Broadway-type stuff, I refused based on Abba alone.

I've always wanted to drive a MGF, but have never had the chance. I thought it was cool that they made them mid-engined.
David Littlefield

Yea! What do I win? ;)
Kevin McLemore

My ever lasting respect Kevin and the next time we visit family outside of Philly I'll buy you a steak at Pat's or Tony Lukes, your choice - if you drive your MG. But David's logic was more impressive. You just used the hint!
efh Haskell

Ha, it's a deal! Seriously, if anyone here does get to the Philadelphia area, look me up... I'm in the book. There's always an empty seat at the table at my place.
Kevin McLemore

Ok Ed...my turn...where am I?

MG LaVerne

Lucky I didn't put my guess in....Buckingham Palace on a Saturday night.
Don TF 4887

Just a guess, LaVerne, but I'm betting you're standing just to the left rear of a rather tidy MGB, taking a photo!

;)
Kevin McLemore

Trick question again Kevin. I was sitting in my house when I posted the picture :-)

Just got back though from a hot weather test drive up a relativly near by mountain pass.
