MG TD TF 1500 - wing nut

Hey all, anyone know the size of the thread that holds the gearbox inspection cover? I think it calls for a wing nut. Thanks, Tom

As a guess 1/4 BSF. Certainly not any larger, but if smaller it will be a 2BA. Cheers - Dave

My wingnut is the correct size, but it has a red Nyloc center so it stays put. I have no idea if it's original... and I definitely don't know how I'd replace it if I lost it.

I carved a new one out of a scrap piece of brass..looks identical. Total cost zero. Regards, Tom

Tom is right. This is one piece that just about anyone with a grinder and drill press could fabricate a reasonable reproduction. It gets pretty much buried in the carpet so only the top really shows.
