MG TD TF 1500 - Wiring diagram for instrument panel
In need of a positive ground wiring diagram for the instrument panel lights for the gages. |

TD or TF? Polarity wouldn't matter. Bud |

They are all in series like an old set of Christmas lights. When one bulb goes out, they all go out :-(

Chris, The lights should be in parallel, not in series. I see that yours seem to have been rewired to be in series, this is not what we see in the wiring diagram. If they were in series then the voltage of the lamps must be 12 volts divided by the number of lamps in the circuit. John |

See http://www.ttalk.info/LateTDWiring.htm for a TD wiring diagram. The instrument lights are shown as dashed red lines. They are in parallel. Bud |

52 TD. Bud, thank you for the link. Perfect. |

Hmm. OK. I flunked basic electrical and posted this too early in the AM. They are in parallel because the ground is coming from the body of the gauges. So one wire is all you need. So basically start from the element closest to the switch and just keep going. You swap the wire from one lug to the other as there are two lugs on each lamp socket. Next time I am waiting at least 1/2 hour after waking up before I post :-) |
