MG TD TF 1500 - XPEG Crank Pulley Diameter

Need the outer diameter of the crank pulley on an XPEG engine. Anyone? PJ

Oops, I should have said, circumference.
Paul Jennings

Paul,
As far as I know I think the diameter is 3.75" (95.25mm)for an XPAG-not familiar with XPEG.
x 3.142=circumference.

Thanks Declan, much appreciated. Tried to measure mine, but couldn't get my hands down there to do so. PJ

Pretty sure all the pulleys are the same. Maybe I can get to one to measure this weekend, I have several in the attic. BTW, today is Pi day, what a timely question! George

Did that on purpose George! LOL. PJ

I am just starting a rebuild and had them in a book.

Here it is.

Just in case.

Mr. Jennings:

There's an article by Skip Burns on the "Chicagolandmgclub" website at the bottom of the page that states that the crankshaft pulley diameter for the T-series engine is "... 3.74" - which multiplied by "pi" (3.1416) - results in a pulley circumference of 11.75 inches...".

I assume that the pulleys on the TD (XPAG) and the TF (XPEG) are the same diameters - the Abingdon Spares website lists the same part number for both.

Here's the link:

I measured 3 various ones-original and older repro and they were all same as above. George

Xpag Xpeg crankshaft pulleys do differ in diameter, late crankshaft pulleys will be marked R2 the size was increased to be identical diameter to the water pump pulley, which is about 105mm. R2 coding refers to the late better steel crankshafts which were machined down .020 to be used in replacement Gold Seal engines. The 1st photograph of JWP Policastro shows one of these crank pulleys
