Triumph TR6 - Proper lube

Been searching using trunnion, lube, grease couldn't find anything. Looking for info on what folks are using for general lube points including trunnions.
regular lithium grease?

thanks
Ian Kinaid

I use regular lithium grease.

Years ago when I put Mobil 1 GL-5 in my transmission (don't do that!), I also tried a Mobil 1 synthetic grease. The rubber boots on the BRAND NEW ball joints split after a month! The boots were'nt over filled - it was either bad boots or more likely the syn grease attacked the rubber. So back to regular grease.

The trunions actually take gear lube (oil) not grease. Getting it in there is another story for the home mechanic. However if you go to your local marine dealer they have gear lube in tubes as well as a pump (about $20.00) that screws on to the tube. You just press the outlet of the pump against the nipple of the trunnion and pump. Works slick!! There is a site somewhere with this info. if you would like it let me know and I'll have a look for it.
