Hi Dave "Save the Clear Hooters". Likely the brand name on your car. Have you tried a direct connect from battery + and negative. I thought mine was shot years ago turned out full of bugs and junk. Took it off cleaned up connection and ground area gave it a couple of raps blew it out and has worked since. Most suppliers have repop brands CH is out of business. Became a restaurant I guess.:) Bill

I replaced my CH's w/ the Chinese reproductions from TRF 2 years ago. One of the two was dead on arrival which TRF quickly replaced. By the end of the summer, both were intermittent so I replaced them w/ Fiamm disk horns mounted vertically on "L" brackets on the original brackets and using the original connectors. I have had also good experiences w/ Hella horns. I'll replace them w/ a quality CH or Lucas reproduction if I can find one.

Finally finished putting new horns the car but they did not work. So I start the trouble shooting process. PO and many times over messed with the electrical part of the car so I have had a lot of time with wire. Seems like everytime there was a problem they would just run a new wire. Any way I trace this all the way back to the little gizmo under the horn button that that has two contact points with a wire in between, spring and the whole thing is house in a plastic tube. Wire was broken. If you have seen CC in Chrismas vacation movie when he cann't the lights working on his house thats how tr owners live Dave

Yea, and when we see a gorgeous frame-off resto, we react like Clark at the department store lingerie counter! One of the best scenes of all time. Rick O.

There's also a nice screw adjustment on the back of the horns that you can turn when they start sounding feeble. I like to take the screw out first and shoot a little WD-40 in there to lube things up, too.
